Punch It Up!

We all know punches are an easy way to create accents for a stamping project, but there's more to punches than you might think. We'd like to show you how to take punches to a new level with a few simple folds, enabling you to create fresh projects or embellish an enhance projects you already love to create! We hope these projects get your creative juices flowing. Happy punching!!!

Friend Card

We'll start with our Friend Card: we used the Small Tag punch and the 1-3/8" Circle punch to create a beautiful daisy.

Use one punched 1-3/8" circle as your base and one as the center of your flower. Then you'll need eight punched tags to use as petals.

To complete your flower, simply adhere eight petals aroudn 1-3/8" circle base. Adhere a second 1-3/8" circle to the center of the flower. On our card, we also used the Double Circle punch to create dotted lines that direct your eyes to the greeting.

Celebrate Today Pinwheel

Our next project uses the Tag punch and the pinwheel fold. Once again, we started with a circle base--this time it's the 1-3/4" to acoomodate the larger petals.

Create eight petals, and adhere them to your circle base. To complete your pinwheel flower, adhere eight petals around circle base. Top it off with your choice of circles for the flower center. We've stamped, embossed, and layered for a fancier flower center.

Thankful Card

On our final project, we've created a festive turkey using several punches and a special fold that works especially well with our Scallop Circle punch. This same fold can be used with a plain circle, and it works well with double-sided paper because it allows both sides of the paper to show on your project.

Adhere the turkey's feathers to your project, and complete your fine feathered friend using additional punches--a 1-3/8" Circle for the body, a 3/4" Circle for the head, two 1/4" Circles for buttons, Double Circle for eyes, a 3/4" Square trimmed down for the hat, flowers from Boho Blossoms for his feet, and a petal from one of the flowers for his beak. You can also use a section punched from the Scallop Circle for his neck instead of putting buttons on the body. Who wouldn't love this little guy?
